A lot of our visitors are unaware and miss the opportunity of taking this beautiful walk leading you from Stoupa into the charming fishing village of Agios Nikolaos. There has always been a dirt track running across the cliffs between the two villages, however, recently a concrete path has been laid covering the entire walk to make this walk more accessible and even more enjoyable for our visitors. The walk can be started by taking the first right immediately after Stoupa School, from there you enter an olive grove at the end of which is a sign pointng you towards the path.
The path follows the sea edge all of the way right into the heart of Agios Nikolaos affording fantastic views along the way.If you are lucky you will see the mountain goats grazing down the side of the cliff edge. Half way into the walk can be found Cafe Maniatiko where you can stop for a cold drink or a bite to eat and even a swim in the pool - The facilities are open to everyone.
You should not miss the little chapel in the rocks with a view point and swimming opportunity which you access from the end of the concrete path just before the unfinished house where there are steps down to the rocks and a sign saying to Gnospis. When you reach Agios Nikolaos there are many tavernas and cafeterias overlooking the picturesque harbour. From Agios Nikolaos you can either decide to take the bus back into Stoupa or as many people do walk back...
Walk time depends entirely on you, however most people tend to complete the walk (at a leisurely pace) in under 1 hour - and it´s FREE!
